Soon new words.

21 augustus 2012

At the moment I’m busy creating new ‘words for strangers’, this time no quotes anymore. But writers-words, from Marc Vangrieken. Marc is someone I knew from at the coffeebar. I always saw him reading or writing, but we never spoke to each other. By coincidence I discovered his blog with his lovely stories. So I asked him if he wanted to create some sentences for this project. He agreed. This is how it looks so far, beautiful dutch sentences.

I’m still searching for someone who would like to create words in English, and maybe also in French. No soft quotes, or wishes. But something real, melancholic, funny …. something to think about ? So if someone might be interested, please send me an e-mail, and explain why your words would be the best to appear on my cards. And maybe I’ll pick you to write words for my project. In return you will have my eternal gratitude, and worldwide fame.

Tour de nord

17 mei 2012

It was a long time ago that I spread some words for strangers. I missed it. So last saturday I joined a streetfestival in Antwerp called ‘Tour de nord’. it was such a pleasure to surprise several people with a note.

I also want to thank all the lovely friends who helped me writing the notes. On the first picture you can see my handwriting. But the others are written by lovely friends with a big heart.

Words in Lausanne.

By Kathleen Verheyen – Lausanne – Switzerland – April 2012

Kathleen is original a Belgian woman, but she lived in Lausanne when I send her the notes. During her stay in Lausanne it was to snowy to spread the notes, so when she returned to Belgium she wasn’t be able to spread the notes in the snowy city of Lausanne. But a little while ago she turned back to Lausanne, this time with more sunny weather, so she could spread the notes.

(by the way, look at that amazing picture of the man who find a note on his bike. That makes me so happy !)

Words in Porto.

10 maart 2012

By Teresa Morais Coimbra – Porto – Portugal – March 2012

teresa spread the words in the city center of Porto. She hang the tags around benches, plants, … . So the notes could reach more people, I think that’s a great idea.
She also wrote some notes in Portuguese, and they are translate as :

Be honest to yourself and to others.
Don’t despair. Smile.
The best in life are the smallest things.
Who strives, always achieves.

Thank you for your beautiful words !

Words in Hong Kong.

20 februari 2012

By Koey Li – Hong Kong – China – February 2012

Thank you, Koey Li, for your lovely pictures and words. I really love her chinese writing, so beautiful.

What Koey li told me:
I chose to spread the notes along Shanghai Street because it is a special place which concentrates many special characters of Hong Kong. Along the street, while people and cars busily move around, you can find both old and short, and modern and tall buildings. So, I think it’s a good choice of place to hang your notes in this city. Here is more about it:[ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai_Street ]. However, there are not many people riding bicycles in Hong Kong so I hardly found bikes to hang to notes. Besides, I wrote some Chinese proverbs about life on the four blank notes and hope your little notes and these proverbs can remind the busy people.

More pictures over here.
